Installing your EZ ICE Rink

Congratulations on your new EZ ICE 60 Minute Backyard Rink™, and welcome to the EZ ICE family. We are excited for you to assemble your rink and start skating! The EZ ICE Rink is designed for assembly with no tools on any flat surface. Before you begin, it might help to watch some of our assembly videos, so you have a sense of how the pieces fit together and how the strap system works. Remember, your rink needs to be set up in a flat area with no more than 9” of slope. Too much slope across the rink and the water level could exceed the “max fill line.” It is important to find the flattest area available, even if it is not in the direct center of your yard! As part of the EZ ICE family, we hope you will share your experiences with us, and don’t forget to tag EZ ICE in all of your social media posts. Let’s get started!

These instructions are intended for Original EZ ICE Rinks purchased before September 1, 2021. If you have a PRO Home Arena System, or have upgraded your Original EZ ICE Rink, please find the instructions here.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

  • White Boards (each straight board is 5’ long x 16” high)
  • (A) Rounded Corner Boards, or
  • (B) Blue Corner Connectors (not included if you have Rounded Corner Boards)
  • White Liner (your liner should extend over the boards on all sides.)
  • Red Brackets with pre-connected Strap Loops
  • Black Straps
  • Silver Liner Clips

STEP 1: LAY OUT THE COMPONENTS

  1. Lay the White Boards around the perimeter of your rink.
  2. Place one Red Bracket at the intersection of each pair of White Boards, with two at each corner. (see below for rounded rinks)
  3. Place (A) the Rounded Corner Boards, or (B) one Blue Corner Connector at each corner of the rink.
  4. Leave the White Liner, Silver Liner Clips, and Black Straps for later.

STEP 2: ASSEMBLE YOUR RINK

  • Start at one corner of the rink and slide the White Boards together so they interlock around the entire perimeter.
  • The White Board sits in the groove in the Red Bracket with the triangle side of the bracket on the outside of the rink. Make sure the bracket sits centered on the seam of the two boards.
  • The Strap Loops extend under the White Board into the inside of the rink.
  • Once all the White Boards are set up, clip the Black Straps to the Strap Loops both length and width wise. There should be one strap connecting each pair of opposing brackets. Remove the slack from the straps. Pull taut, but do not over tighten.

ROUNDED CORNER OPTION

  • Your Rounded Corners interlock like the White Boards and the Blue Corner Connector is not used.
  • The Red Bracket at the intersection of the two Rounded Corners pieces should have two Strap Loops attached. Orient these two buckles at 90 degrees to connect two Black Straps —one of which should travel horizontally and the other vertically across the rink. Tighten the slack from the straps.

STEP 3: FILL WITH WATER

  1. Unroll your White Liner inside the rink, making sure it is lined up correctly lengthwise. Then unfold it.
  2. Center the White Liner over the rink area and drape the edges over the top of the White Boards. It is helpful to push the liner down into the edge where the board meets the ground inside the rink to make sure you have correctly centered your liner.
  3. Do not use the Silver Liner Clips before filling with water. The water will pull the liner down as it fills.
  4. Fill the rink until the water in the shallowest end reaches the minimum fill line. Do not exceed the maximum fill line anywhere in the rink.
  5. Secure your White Liner using the Silver Liner Clips The liner clips easily clip into the back of the boards.
  6. Wait for the water to freeze.
  7. Enjoy your new EZ ICE 60 Minute Backyard Rink ™!
